I love taking pictures around the farm, and I love sharing about it all on this blog. Sometimes, though, there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything. This past week was one of those times. I simply packed too much into the week to sit down and blog about it. I have … Continue reading It was a long week

Some days…
...you just have to know how to forget all about it.
Fostering (again)
I was cruising Facebook Saturday and saw this: I just couldn't leave her in the pound for the weekend (she'd have been stuck until Monday because the pound is closed Saturday afternoon through Monday morning). I contacted the assistant dog warden to let her know I'd foster the puppy, and I was on my way … Continue reading Fostering (again)
Music soothes the wild beast(s)
I went to the high school to watch the band camp show. Sahara is in marching band again and loving it. I happened to look left across the field, and there were these beauties. Fun with friends
Everything is better when friends help... Jake and Johnny, 7/31/2015 ...even farm chores!
Silly turkey

Bessie gave me a heart attack
I was coming home from dropping Sahara off at band this morning, and I noticed Beef (unusually) standing a ways off from Bessie, and Bessie was off by herself, standing over what looked like a big brown lump setting in the dirt. I couldn't see it very well, but the closer I git, I could … Continue reading Bessie gave me a heart attack
She needed a vet!
DG's bandage showed bleeding through it, and I was concerned about bacteria and infection so I called the vet's office this morning. They were great about getting her in right away. She was very well-behaved while waiting her turn. The exam room made her nervous. She was not happy about the sedative (shot) but didn't … Continue reading She needed a vet!
Fixing a foot
Somehow, DG cut herself badly tonight while Ted was doing farm chores. I think she did it in the creek, but I'm not positive. It looked like a gouge, but once I got it cleaned, I saw it was a big slash. We're rural so all vet offices close after 12pm on Saturdays. I didn't … Continue reading Fixing a foot
