Over 50% of the US population lived in rural areas

And

30% of the nation’s population were farmers.

Today, just 100 years later, 83% of our people live in cities (17% live rurally)

And

2% are farmers.

You read that correctly.  TWO PERCENT ARE FARMERS.

Those are sobering facts!
