Things are so hard to find in some places right now. I thought this might be a good time to share my homemade dishwasher detergent recipe!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda
1/2 cup kosher/rock salt
citric acid and vinegar (do not add to mixture but needed when washing dishes)
INSTRUCTIONS: mix borax, washing soda, and salt in a jar, shake well, and cap tightly. Shake well before each use. Add a sprinkle of citric acid in the little dishwasher cup along with a teaspoon of this homemade dishwasher detergent. Place a little vinegar in the rinse agent holder. Run your dishwasher cycle as normal.
NOTE: Borax and washing soda are normally located in the laundry detergent aisle; both are packaged in boxes usually. Citric acid is normally found with canning jars and is in a bottle about the size of a big salt/pepper shaker.
