Smartcar mileage

I had two gallon (80 miles) left when I parked my car last time. It was drained when I got in the next morning! 258.7 miles ÷ 8.31 gallons = 31.13mpg  That made my mileage the worst ever!!!  The thief drained my gas for the last time. I'm ordering a locking gas cap today!
