Food independence

I planted my garden on July 4th. Yes, that’s terribly late.  I know that.

Better late than never, right? I figured I could not do it and then moan and groan about it or try to do it this late and be thrilled if I actually get any veggies from the plants.

I planted three heirloom tomatoes,  a jalapeno, a green pepper, four green beans, a Sugar Baby watermelon, and a jack of lantern pumpkin.

Next year I’ll do it all from seed because Bessie and the Terrible Twosome will get moved to the big pasture in late April. They just got moved recently, and I planted all of this in Ina very well fertilized area of the paddock!
