On Thursday afternoon, I stopped by a new store in town: Homestead Market. This used to be in the little tiny building near General Mills, but the owner said he got tired of “freezing in the winter and roasting in the summer”. Ha!
This is a wonderful store. The business has expanded and includes many products I can’t find in the local big box or grocery stores.
The candy aisle features candy made locally as well as prepackaged varieties.
The produce is locally raised and looks fantastic.
On the back wall I found homemade REAL bread! It has the exact same ingredients you’d use at home to bake bread, and it’s cut into sandwich slices! This alone made me want to dance in the aisles.
There were other baked goodies as well such as pumpkin bread and chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies by the dozen.
They even have GMO free popcorn!
The baking aisle is full of big bags of interesting ingredients like raw sugar, Dominoes brown sugar,
tapioca pearls,
spelt flour, wheat flour, cake flour, high gluten flour, and several others.
I even found a 32 ounce bottle of pure Ohio maple syrup! A tiny bit of this goes such a long way! Real maple syrup truly is worth the price.
Homestead Market is definitely a great addition to our community.
I really love there chicken lunchmeat!
