This big guy is a Lavender Orpington rooster. I absolutely love this breed. He and the hen (in front of him) are well mannered, large, beautifully feathered, and good tempered. They aren’t flighty or aggressive at all. Ted can lift him right off his roost at night without getting pecked or kicked. This guy is vocal (his cock-a-doodle-do is heard A LOT inside the house), but it’s one of my favorite things. This is a great breed of chicken to have!
