“The Unteachables”
I made it a goal two weeks ago to read more books (especially fiction - I love good fiction!). I ran across this book on Amazon and ordered it immediately. I love anything to do with teaching, and this book didn't disappoint. It's a quick read at just under 300 pages. I took it with … Continue reading “The Unteachables”
I read a book!
Years ago, I'd have been flabbergasted to know that this version of older me wasn't devouring multiple books weekly...but here I am, and life is what it is. There are a million flimsy excuses I could give, and we've all used them a million times: work, house, kids, family, farm, etc, etc, but they're just … Continue reading I read a book!
Instapot Chicken Noodle Soup
THIS. IS. DA. BOMB!!! Dump all this in the Instapot (chop the veggies, pasta goes in uncooked, and boneless skinless chicken breasts go in frozen - could it be any easier???). You don't have to be exact. If you like more carrots, add them. More onion? Add it! Watching your sodium? Cut the salt or … Continue reading Instapot Chicken Noodle Soup
Smidge is the queen
I broke my toe Wednesday night (banged into a gate being my usual klutzy self and an xray confirmed it Thursday - I'll spare you from looking at my swollen little purple and green toe - you're welcome). Now I have to sit with my feet propped up for a few days, and I. Am. … Continue reading Smidge is the queen
It’s been a year, Gramma
One year since I last saw your pretty face... One year and ten days since I last heard your funny laugh... One year and two days since I laid on your bed and held you, wishing your suffering would end but knowing I wasn't ready to let you go but needed to... One year and … Continue reading It’s been a year, Gramma
Tulip wreath
I finally got around to making my own tulip wreath using Dollar Tree materials this morning! I used 23 flower stems, 1 roll of ribbon (used the wrap method to hold the flowers on the frame), and 1 wire frame. I think I'm possibly going to add another set of stems in the top left … Continue reading Tulip wreath
Beautiful boy
Well, Bessie is nothing if not dramatic this time around at the end of her pregnancy! After all of that worry on Friday evening and all of the treatment for the milk fever, guess what we found on Sunday morning??? This beautiful boy was born! The vet even checked her Friday night while she was … Continue reading Beautiful boy
Milk fever!!!
We just walked in the door (11pm). We've been at the barn since 5:30. Bessie is down. We called for an emergency vet visit - she has milk fever. She seems like she will pull through: she's alert, eating, and drinking. She just can't get up. If Ted hadn't caught it though...she'd have been gone … Continue reading Milk fever!!!
Claimed!
Daisy obviously missed me. She's been on my lap since we got home from Chicago. If I sit down, she's on my lap. If I get up, she keeps me in sight, following me from room to room. When I sit down again, she's back on my lap. I am loved.
