I don't think it ever crossed our minds as high school sweethearts that a "hot date" in 25 years would mean going to Tractor Supply without the kids. Yes....we are those people. Erin and Shaun, you're not alone in this! LOL

Egg setting time?
I've noticed more and more that certain hens want to stay in the nest boxes. I think they're planning to go broody soon which means chicks (AND SPRING!!!) won't be far behind!

He thinks he's a chicken! When I take treats to the girls, he goes right in and eats alongside them. I didn't notice him in there the other night and locked him in there. Ted let him out the next morning. I bet he slept in a nest box!

Kickin’ it into high gear
My hens are ridiculously backwards with their egg laying. Most hens lay tons when it's warm (late spring through early fall). My girls lay eggs when it's super cold.
