Behind this door…

...is my treasure trove!!! When we remodeled the bathroom (and on the spur of the moment, I had Mike and Dad knock down the pantry wall to make the bathroom huge), I was left with this door in my kitchen. They were thinking I should drywall over it, but I knew just what to do … Continue reading Behind this door…

Ugly volunteer tomatoes ROCK!

During the winter, I was buying a type of tomato at Walmart called Ugly Heirloom Tomaties. They were two to a pack and were $4-$5/pack. The cores were always tossed over the porch railing to my chickens. Walmart quit selling these (along with the hot dogs with no corn syrup and Annie's Cheddar Bunnies and … Continue reading Ugly volunteer tomatoes ROCK!

Making salsa

I was gifted three five gallon buckets full of fresh tomatoes.  I know!!! That is AWESOME!!!  They had to all be done up pretty quickly though because they were very ripe. The first thing is to get the canner going with the jars in it to sterilize them while working up the tomatoes. In all … Continue reading Making salsa

The little things he thinks nobody notices - those are the things that bind you to him because you DO see them. Ted mentioned last week that someone had … Continue reading It’s the little things…

How did this happen???

This just snuck up on me. You don't see it? How did falling leaves happen already??? ...And dying plants??? Oh wait. That one was all me (no drainage - I drowned it!). Disregard that photo. But how did THIS happen already???? Look at the tree with all its orange and brown leaves behind Bessie!!! I'm … Continue reading How did this happen???
