...again. We have one goat who gets out a LOT. Luckily, it's the friendly one who thinks all people have snacks just for her so she's easy to put back in. Ted put her in and watched her jump right back over the fence again in a low spot. He's fixing it now. Puppers and … Continue reading Fixing fences …

Hay time again
We have to get more land fenced in for Bessie and the goats. What we have is just not enough. I have started supplementing with hay everyday already. I didn't plan to start feeding them hay again until November! This is true love right here - Ted has horrible hours right now at work, and … Continue reading Hay time again
Fixing fences
One of the things I recently learned from Bessie is that when you have a cow, you don't just install a fence and have it forever without any upkeep....you don't even have it three months past brand new without upkeep! I noticed about a week ago there were two posts with loose fencing on them; … Continue reading Fixing fences
Moving spots

She offered me the apples and told me to come get the bagged ones every week. Bessie and the … Continue reading July apples
If you give a woman a chicken…
...she'll realize she needs a chicken coop. If she builds the chicken coop, she'll realize that it needs painted. If she paints it, she'll need brushes and rollers and more paint so she'll go to the store. At the store she'll remember she needs milk and seeing those jugs of milk will make her wish … Continue reading If you give a woman a chicken…
Open for grazing!
The gate has been installed, the water tanks have been filled, and after 4 trips (chasing goats who would get allllmost to the gate and then run back up the driveway home), Bessie and the Terrible Twosome are successfully in the new pasture and grazing! All that goat chasing wore Ted and DG out. LOL
Mowing with Bessie
I have devised a plan to keep the grass mowed without spending a penny and to save money on my feed bill. Bessie is mowing for me! I move her from fence post to fence post every two hours. It goes from looking like this... ...to this where she can reach. I love my big … Continue reading Mowing with Bessie
