I love winter nights in the barn. The smell of the hay takes me straight back to my childhood. The cow and goats all nestled down for the night, and their warm breath fogs up the barn windows. The chickens gather together in groups of 2 & 3 in the nest boxes, and I love to listen to their little peeps, whistles, and chirps which is how they snore. Tonight, even the little gray cat, Meaner, decided to take part
in barn life. There are no cold drafts, and they are all a snug and cozy little family inside that little blue barn. Standing there, listening to them in the silence of the winter night, makes it easy to believe all is right in living the simple life.
