I watched the latest episode of “Modern Family” and cracked up the other night because Claire has a desktop shortcut to “porn” on her lapyop. When she clicks it, it’s all organizational items pinned to her Pinterest board. LOL. It made me laugh and decide to share my pics – but thus is all real and in my kitchen! LOL
It’s no secret I have a love affair with coffee. This Keurig has a backstory. We bought it for our oldest daughter, Janeesa, the first year she was away at college. She lived with a friend over the summer. We went there to move her back to the dorm in the fall, and she was upset with me for something or other and said she was not taking the Keurig. The apartment roommate didn’t even like coffee, so I hid it in a basket of towels and then stuffed it in our trunk and brought it home.
I’m not a bad Mom. I bought her a new one for her last birthday when she mentioned wanting one! She didn’t know for about three years that this one in my kitchen was her old one. Ha!
Mom bought me a coffee bean electric grinder for my birthday one year. It’s a great item to have!!! It let me get away from buying the coffee pods (which make a cup anywhere from 75 cents and up) and start grinding and filling my own.
I grind enough for a week to make a pint of one kind of coffee and a jelly jar of another kind. That lasts a week…sometimes.
If you have a Keurig, get a Java Jig or a refillable Keurig filter. I love this. I buy boxes of the coffee filters when they go on sale so it makes my coffee habit pretty cheap.
I have vanilla beans in a canister and make my own vanilla sugar for my coffee. It’s soooo hood!
I keep my beans in the freezer so they last longer. I’m a little panicky after realizing I only have about 2.5 pounds in there right now! I normally have the whole door filled with beans!
This is one of my favorites from Jungle Jim’s! The Chocolate Raspberry is the absolute best though!
I have a little yardsale basket that holds labeled jar lids with the various coffee names and measurement sizes in case somebody else makes the coffee. I can swap out lids on the jars easily when I grind beans.
I drink so much coffee that I have a cabinet dedicated to it and to tea. Everything I need to make a great cup of liquid sunshine is right in one spot…
…because when I remodeled the kitchen last spting, I knew this would be my coffee bar area! I love this little section of my kitchen! That’s Puppers photo bombing it. LOL
Before remodeling, I bought these at Family Dollar or Dollar General…
…and hung them on the wall using ribbon I glued to their backs…
…and set this clearanced placemat (25 cents!!!) in a frame on the counter.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm….
COFFEE!!!
