I pass a Christmas tree farm daily, and recently I noticed there was a small tractor setting at the foot of the driveway with a few implements for sale. I gave the owner a call a few days ago, and Ted and I went over to take a look at everything last night. We already had the items that were setting down at the end of the driveway, but the owner told us he had something else in the barn and took us over there to check it out.
It was a seed spreader! We’ve been looking to get one of these to make it easier to seed all of the pastures that we want to, but we just didn’t have the money to purchase one new at the moment. We almost fell over when he told us the price because it was so cheap. We bought it on the spot and made arrangements to come back and pick it up tonight. On the way out of the barn, I noticed this old weathered barn door that he had leaning up against the far wall and asked him if he would be interested in selling it. He wasn’t sure, so we went on home.
When we went back tonight, he asked me if I really wanted that door after they loaded the spreader, and of course I excitedly said yes!
Ted unloaded the spreader with our tractor, and now I just need to figure out what to do with the barn door. I would use it for a front door, but Ted was adamantly against that idea.
I have an idea of what to do … Martha would be proud of me!!!
