Last year because of the weather, hay became hard to find around here. We were sweating during January, worried we wouldn’t be able to feed our herd. We have just a hair under 50 acres, but it’s almost all wooded so not good for hay making (perfect for pigs though!).This year, we are bound and determined to have enough put back that we don’t need to worry so we’ve been buying a load here, a load there, and making sure we keep track of how many bales they’re eating and the projected number we think they will eat this winter.
