Sunday was absolutely gorgeous here! We spent almost four hours outside doing little chores that built up over the winter. The chickens got to head into the paddock for the day. Since we can't contain Bessie there anymore (she just goes right through or over the fence), we were thinking of moving the chickens there … Continue reading On furlough

Getting estimates
This morning at 9:30 an excavator came by to see about clearing the new property I'm hoping to enclose for rotational grazing. His cousin buys timber so hopefully a lot of what's there is good enough to purchase and will help offset the price of clearing the land. The guy is out there walking it … Continue reading Getting estimates
I DID IT!!!
This farming thing just got real, folks. I signed today on 10 acres and a big building (electric! cement floor!) that I'm going to turn into a barn and raw milk herdshare operation. I will officially own it in a little over five years. Right now I own about a sixth of it until it's … Continue reading I DID IT!!!
Welcome wagon

Sooooo ready for spring!!!
We are all so ready for spring here!!! Meaner won't hunt mice in this. He just surveys his kingdom from the porch. Bessie can't believe she's still stuck eating hay. She's quite perturbed with me this morning. The goats are thrilled that I tossed some sour oranges and wrinkly apples in there with them all. … Continue reading Sooooo ready for spring!!!

I did it!!! I have designed my perfect barn!!! There are lots of doors but I want it that way. I like lots of "escape routes". LOL Now to find a bulldozer guy and somebody to build it!! Oh yeah...and money to pay them.
