The puppies grew so much and finally started to pack on weight their last few days here.
They started to act like puppies should (chewing, chasing, tearing things apart).
They trusted us and learned that we (people) can be kind and loving.
They learned we are the source of treats and belly rubs and ear scratches.
They learned to trust, and they learned to “dog”.
They made a mess of planting supplies I left out.
My job was complete when it was their turn to be rescued. Rescuing means they will all get the medical care they need (the vet check revealed they had sarcoptic mange), spayed and neutered, and guaranteed a home.
If you have a chance, support your local (or nearest) dog rescue foundation.
