This is DA BOMB! It’s also cheap to make and very filling which can be a plus if your budget is a little tight. It’s also a “dump it in” slow cooker recipe which is awesome for busy days. Last, it makes the whole house smell fantastic!
1 bag frozen hashbrown potatoes
3 celery stalks
1 smoked ham hock or leftover ham
4 tsp Better Than Bouillon organic chicken base*
(*or skip the water and bouillon and add three cans of chicken broth instead)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
That’s it! Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high four hours or slow eight hours.
When you serve it, you can stir in a little milk if you want and top it with shredded cheese, bacon, green onions, and sour cream (but it’s good and cheaper without all that stuff, too).
