Taking care of this puppy is so much fun. I have feeding time down to a science now. First, I boil water in my tea kettle. I only put in about two inches so this part is fast. Then I put two tablespoons of raw goat milk in the bottle and set it in the … Continue reading Feeding Time for Ladybird

Connections made at the Athens Farmers’ Market!
I went over to Athens to the Farmers' Market this morning. While there I happened upon bags of Enterprise (a type of apple) apples which are one of our favorite kinds. I bought a bag, and in talking with the farmer, I asked him if he would allow us to have some small pieces to … Continue reading Connections made at the Athens Farmers’ Market!
Sooooo ready for spring!!!
We are all so ready for spring here!!! Meaner won't hunt mice in this. He just surveys his kingdom from the porch. Bessie can't believe she's still stuck eating hay. She's quite perturbed with me this morning. The goats are thrilled that I tossed some sour oranges and wrinkly apples in there with them all. … Continue reading Sooooo ready for spring!!!
Growing daily

Little (temporary) addition
We are currently fostering a three day old puppy for about four weeks. She's one of six left at a no kill animal shelter. She's definitely made my busy days even busier!!! I have no idea what breed she is. The mother dog wasn't brought in with the puppies. We'll keep her until she eats … Continue reading Little (temporary) addition

He's the courageous (simple?) one. This is Meaner's world. He is the brave king of the porch, barn, and garage...As long as Bessie … Continue reading Icy day
That’s not mud!!!
It's 2 a.m., and I heard weird crunching noises so I got up to investigate. That's not mud on her paws!!! It's brown marker!!! The floor is cleaned (bless you Crayola for making them washable on laminate flooring). She's going to have to wait until tomorrow. Geez!!!
Barn plans!!!
I did it!!! I have designed my perfect barn!!! There are lots of doors but I want it that way. I like lots of "escape routes". LOL Now to find a bulldozer guy and somebody to build it!! Oh yeah...and money to pay them.
Figuring out the new barn
I've been trying to figure out what I want in the new barn we plan to build this summer. This is our little mini barn that we currently use (this pic was taken on a cold night so the heat lamps are lit and glowing in the windows): I have piles of sketches, printed tips … Continue reading Figuring out the new barn
