It's been twelve days since I've posted anything on the blog! So what in the world have I been up to??? I'm glad you've asked! I teach at an e-school (online/virtual school) in Ohio. Our summer break is not the entire summer like most school districts get; instead, I get from June 16th through July … Continue reading Where have I been?

Summer break is here!
I'm so happy right now! My summer break officially starts as of 5pm today! I never know who's happier about summer vacation...students or teachers (but I have an inkling as to who it is). There are four big home projects on my summer to do list: 1. Finish painting and putting furniture together for Sahara's … Continue reading Summer break is here!
Sure sign of spring!
The frogs and toads are taking over. They love all the rain lately. They also love any item that collects water (like this catch bucket under the hose spigot which is then used to water house plants) around the farm!
Working birds
Front flowerbed workers The birds just love the gorgeous weather, and they especially love it when I lock the big dogs inside and let them have the run of the entire property. I like letting them roam completely free because they dig through the dead leaves and practically mulch them for me. Slacker is … Continue reading Working birds

Frog pond
This used to be our fish pond, but it flooded during the summer so the last fish was scooped out and placed into our swimming pool with the ones from the winter (when the ice topped the pond and caused the big fish to die). Now it's a frog pond! There are five big frogs … Continue reading Frog pond
LOOK!!!! IT’S GROWING! !!
Do you see that little green bulb in the bottom of the picture? I'm not sure what it is, but I sure AM excited to see what it turns out to be!
Busy bees
This squash plant came up by the garage as a volunteer. I had both pumpkins and zucchini donated to my chickens last year, and I have no idea which one this is. I just left it alone. It's had lots of flowers, and the vines are big and strong, but nothing has come of it. … Continue reading Busy bees
Prepping for next year
My little garden just looks sad this year. I try every year. Lord knows I try. I just do not have a green thumb. Now give me an animal, and I can get it through most anything and keep it healthy and happy. I had a spot bulldozed a couple of years ago for a … Continue reading Prepping for next year
